Our Farm — Where Regeneration Begins
Organic. Regenerative. Rooted in Stewardship.
At Smokin’ Oaks, our farm is guided by a simple belief: healthy food starts with healthy soil. Everything we grow and raise is rooted in organic, regenerative practices that restore the land and nourish the people it feeds.
Meet Our Farmer:
Justin Head
Justin Head comes from a long line of Tennessee farmers, with roots that run deep on both sides of his family. Growing up around conventional agriculture, he saw firsthand how traditional methods can exhaust the land and disconnect people from the food they rely on. That experience stirred something in him — a conviction that farming could be different, healthier, and more aligned with the way nature actually works.
So in 2015, Justin charted a new path. He transitioned to organic farming and became the only certified organic farmer in Robertson County, steadily growing his farm’s reach and impact ever since.
What We Believe:
At Smokin’ Oaks, we believe food should nourish both people and the land it comes from. Our commitment to organic, regenerative farming means caring for the soil, respecting the animals we raise, and avoiding harmful chemicals. When the land is healthy, the food — and the community it feeds — thrives.
-
Our animals are raised on open pasture, supplemented with organic grains, and cared for without pesticides, antibiotics, or synthetic inputs.
-
Healthy soil is the foundation of our farm. Through rotational grazing and diverse plant growth, we restore nutrients and keep the land alive.
-
We avoid synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, choosing natural methods that protect both the land and the food it produces.
-
Biodiversity — from insects to cover crops — helps maintain balance and protect crops without chemical intervention.
-
Every part of the farm works together to create a resilient, regenerative system that supports long-term soil health and nutrient-dense food.
How We Farm
Our regenerative approach focuses on restoration, not extraction.
